Knueppel HealthCare Services (KHS) announces its 2013 Wheels in Motion Seminar Mobility is POWERful: Mobility and Seating Solutions for Adults and Children, to take place on Thursday, November 14 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Brookfield. The day-long CEU-accredited course for occupational therapists, physical therapists, and assistive technology professionals will feature all aspects of proper seating and power mobility systems for adults and children needing wheelchairs.
This is the sixth consecutive year that KHS is offering professional education and training to local therapists. Presenting this year will be two clinical education specialists from Sunrise Medical: Steve Boucher, OTR/L and Angie Kiger, M. Ed., CTRS, ATP. The morning and afternoon sessions will include interactive and engaging educational programs that will provide attendees with the baseline knowledge needed to recommend seating and mobility equipment for pediatric clients and power mobility users.
The pediatric track, Pediatric Thoughts, Ideas and Solutions, will cover how seating, positioning and mobility impact overall development; equipment options and justification for equipment choices. The adult track, Mobility is POWERful, will address when power mobility products are required, linking clinical assessment results to proper seating options and electronics and programming.
As always, this educational course is open to all interested professionals. Registration is now open and seating is limited; please contact rehab@http://http://www.knueppels.com/blog or 414-777-5143.
