Don’t forget that August 21st is National Senior Citizens Day, a day created in 1988 to show our gratitude to seniors for their achievements and contributions to society. KHS wants to give our older US citizens our sincerest thanks and a heartfelt salute.
Senior Citizens Day is a day to:
- Spend time with seniors
- Show our appreciation
- Volunteer to help the elderly
Spending time with seniors gives them valuable companionship and lets them know they are cherished. We can learn about their hobbies and share the details of our favorite activities with them. Perhaps you will uncover a common interest! They will appreciate us showing interest in their lives.
We can show our appreciation for seniors close to us through a phone call, a visit or a card. Visiting a senior center, assisted living facility, retirement home or nursing home can reach many seniors and help create new friendships. Sharing fresh flowers and/or vegetables from your garden can really make a senior happy.
On this August 21st, National Senior Citizens Day, we recognize and show appreciation for the value and contribution of older people to our homes, our families and our society. THANK YOU!
